硝基漆颜色喷涂首先将被喷物体用酒精擦拭感觉，并选择好颜色合适的硝基漆，然后将硝基漆罐上下摇动约20s，待罐内漆混合均匀后即可使用。喷漆时，要注意被喷物和喷漆罐的角度和距离。一般被喷物与喷漆罐的夹角在30-50度之间，喷色距离在300mm左右为宜。具体操作时应采取少量多次喷漆的原则，每次喷漆间隔时间一般在2-4min。雨季或气温较低时，应适当地延长间隔时间。在进行大面积喷漆时，每次喷漆的顺序应交叉进行，即第一遍由上至下，第二遍由左至右，第三遍再由上至下依次转换，直至达到理想的效果。
在喷漆的实际操作中，如果需要有光泽的表层效果时，在喷漆过程中应缩短喷漆距离并均匀地减缓喷漆速度，从而使被喷物表层在干燥后就能形成平整而光泽的漆面。但应该指出的是，在喷漆时，被喷面一定要水平放置，以防漆层过厚而出现流挂现象。如果我们需要亚光效果时，在喷漆过程中要加大喷漆距离和加快喷漆速度，使喷漆在空中形成雾状并均匀地散落在被喷面表层，这样重复数遍后漆面便形成颗粒状且无光泽的表层效果。
硝基漆是一种较为理想的颜色喷涂剂，但是由于目前市场上出售的颜色品种有限，从而给硝基漆的使用带来了局限性，如果在进行颜色喷涂时在硝基漆中选择不到合适的颜色，便可使用磁漆或调和漆来替代。
